The heartbeat of Eureka Springs

If you hear a solid rhythm rolling down Spring Street, follow it. You are likely to find Basin Spring Park transformed into one big, free-for-all drum circle.

Drumming in the Park is an invitation to join unmistakably Eureka. Led by local favorite Angelo and his troupe of drummers and dancers, the circle grows as people arrive. You may recognize Angelo as one of our bike cops!

You do not need musical training—or even a drum—to join in. Bring a hand drum, shaker, tambourine, bucket, or anything else that makes a joyful noise. Our local drum makers, New World Drums, are usually there with drums to share or sell. Everyone contributes something, even if it is only a little swing and sway or a tapping foot.

The gatherings are held on the first Saturday of the month from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. from spring through the fall. On occasion, it gets moved to Harmony Park on North Main because of activities in Basin Park.

In a town known for moving to its own rhythm, Drumming in the Park may be the closest you can come to hearing Eureka Springs’ heartbeat.
